@iris also, if you’re on a third party PDS and get banned by Bluesky moderation you don’t get banned.. technically

so what happens is when Bluesky bans you while you’re on their PDSes they typically take down your account as well, banning you from the whole network

HOWEVER if you’re on a third party PDS you will still be able to use your account and get indexed by bluesky’s (or any other that hasn’t banned your PDS or account) relays, meaning that you can still use non-Bluesky apps on the protocol and interact with Bluesky, even if nobody else can see your posts and shit without bypassing their moderation systems (which isn’t hard to do in theory, just auto-block their labelers from loading and use an appview which doesn’t abide by their labeler’s actions)

I know this because this happened to a friend of mine on there
